What information do we collect and how?
When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address, credit or debit card number and the card's expiry date. This allows us to process and fulfill your orders and to notify you of the status of your order. When using our secure order form, only the information you enter is returned to us, and it comes only to us, no one else. Any information you give us about yourself is held with the utmost care and security and will NOT be used in ways to which you have not consented. Information collected on our Web site is collected and used exclusively by High Country Coffee.

If you wish it, we collect your email address for our mailing list to keep you up-to-date on all the latest products from us, and any specials we may be offering to our regular customers. If you wish to unsubscribe and not receive any of our mailings at any time, or request deletion of account information from our files just contact remove@highcountrycoffee anytime.

How does High Country Coffee protect customer information?
When you place orders or access your account information, we use osCommerce software and IPowerweb for our secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. For more on Security, see below.

All of our email addresses and information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998.

Will High Country Coffee disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
In a word: NO! High Country Coffee nor its partner company New Guinea Traders does not sell, trade, rent or share your personal information or mailing list subscriber information to others.... ever!. In addition to SSL encryption, we also protect your information off-line. Your information is restricted and only those who need this information (e.g., to process your order) are granted access via password-protected systems.

When you get to the order form on our site, you will notice in the address line, that there is an 'https://' rather than an 'http://'. The 's' indicates that you are on a secure page. High Country Coffee provides this security through the SSL protocol, Secure Sockets Layer, which is the current method used to secure web transactions. Using osCommerce, all orders and payment information sent from our Web server will be encrypted using industry standard encryption. This encrypted and secure data is routed to our secure server for processing. Encryption is the process of taking the characters you enter at your computer keyboard and scrambling them into bits of code before transmission. The bits are securely transmitted over the internet to be deciphered when received by High Country Coffee's Internet Service Provider (ISP). To anyone else, the information would be unreadable. . High Country Coffee actively reviews its web security and privacy practices to protect your information.
